About us

Tallahassee Gastro Health Center provide comprehensive GI care to our patients. Dr Muniyappa is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. We manage patients in both Capital Regional Medical Center and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

We offer treatment for the entire spectrum of gastrointestinal and liver diseases including

  • irritable bowel syndrome
  • inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's disease and Ulcerative colitis)
  • nutrition
  • cirrhosis
  • Hepatitis B and C treatment
  • endoscopic management of gastrointestinal cancers
  • pancreatic diseases (pancreas cysts, pancreas cancer, pancreatitis, and pseudocysts)
  • bile duct stone
  • strictures and endoscopic removal of large polyps and early cancers

Dr Muniyappa performs state of the art gastrointestinal procedures including ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound.

We coordinate care with primary care physicians and collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, and pathologists. We strive to provide the best care possible for our patients. Our providers speak multiple languages including spanish.

We also offer colon cancer screening.

Kishor Muniyappa, M.D.

Dr Muniyappa is a board-certified gastroenterologist. After medical school, he did his residency in internal medicine, in Chicago. After having completed chief residency in Chicago, he was selected for a competitive fellowship in Gastroenterology, nutrition and liver disease at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He was selected to be a chief fellow as well.

He offers treatment for the entire spectrum of gastrointestinal and liver diseases including irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's disease and Ulcerative colitis), nutrition, liver diseases, Hepatitis B and C treatment, endoscopic management of gastrointestinal cancers, pancreatic diseases (pancreas cysts, pancreas cancer, pancreatitis, and pseudocysts), bile duct strictures and stone and endoscopic removal of large polyps and early cancers.

He has the expertise to perform advanced procedures like ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound in addition to the EGD and colonoscopy.

Jodie L. Ward DNP, AGPCNP-BC

Jodie L. Ward DNP, AGPCNP-BC was raised in Arkansas and after high school married her husband who was active duty Army and they spent the next 22 years traveling the United States and Europe while raising three children.

Jodie completed her ADN at Elizabethtown Community College in Elizabethtown, Ky in 2003. She then pursued her Masters in Nursing at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. During her time at Vanderbilt she obtained her Adult Geriatric Primary Care certification and she had a minor in global health. Jodie went on to complete her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in May of 2019 where she focused her research on reducing polypharmacy in the elderly population. Her 16-year career in nursing has included working in the Digestive Disease Clinic and Emergency Room at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Jodie also practiced as a primary care NP for three years in Tennessee before moving to Tallahassee in July of 2019 to focus her career on gastroenterology.

Outside of work she does medical missions and enjoys yoga, weight lifting, and running and going to the beach.

Stephanie Thomas, APRN, FNP-C

Ms. Stephanie Thomas is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practi-tioner for Tallahassee Gastro Health Center. She graduated from University of South Florida in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Ms. Stephanie then attended University of Tampa and graduated in 2018 with a Master of Science in nursing. She is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Acade-my of Nurse Practitioners. In her spare time she enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures
